Description:
Snoqualmie Mountain is the highest peak in the Snoqualmie Pass area. This hike follows a steep climbers trail The upper mountain offers enjoyable hiking through rocky heather meadows with impressive views of the surrounding peaks.
From the Alpental Parking lot find the unmarked climbers trail about 100 feet before the Snow Lake trailhead. Follow this steep and overgrown trail 0.7 miles through forest and brush to an overgrown talus field. The trail forks here. Take the left fork to Snoqualmie Mountain ascending a rocky slope though a hemlock forest. Traverse left to a stream gully above a cliff and cross it. Climb up the left hand side of the gully back into the forest. Continue 1.2 miles to where the trail turns west up the ridge to Snoqualmie Mtn. Follow the ridge up through heather meadows to the summit.
Directions:
Take I-90 east to exit 52 and head north on Alpental Road 1.4 miles to the Alpental Ski area parking lot.
